 Bill Bryant, DVM
Dr. Bill Bryant is a native of Wayne, Maine. His
undergraduate degree was received from the University of Southern
Maine before obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North
Carolina State University in 1991. After working in large animal
medicine and surgery for a year in North Carolina, Dr. Bryant returned
to his home state in 1992 to begin a long partnership with the
practice founder, John Gross.
Dr. Bryant is a member of the American Veterinary
Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the
Maine Veterinary Medical Association. He served on the MVMA board for
5 years and as president in 2004. He received special recognition for
his service with the presentation of the Veterinary Service Award in
2005. He currently serves on the board for the Animal Emergency Clinic
of Mid-Maine in Lewiston.
His medical areas of special interest include endoscopy,
orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Bryant resides in Mount Vernon with his wife Patty
and their children Gillian and Sam. Other family members include two
feisty Jack Russell terriers “Badger” and “Rooster”, a hungry but well
fed yellow Labrador retriever “Blossom” and a tabby cat named “Minke”. |

 Mary Sheridan, DVM
Dr.
Mary Sheridan is originally from New Jersey and her first degree from
Middlesex College was in Marketing Art and Design. She worked in
advertising as an Art Director for two years before returning to
school to pursue Biology. Following a stint at California State
University, she received her B.S. from Portland State University in
Oregon. In 1996 she earned her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from
Kansas State University.
Following graduation she moved to
Maine and
joined the staff at
Winthrop
Vet Hospital. She became an active member of the Maine Veterinary
Medical Association and served as its president in 2003.
After seven years of practice she left WVH to pursue an
interest in emergency medicine and critical care and joined a 24-hour
emergency hospital. She moved to North Carolina for two years and
continued to gain extensive experience in internal medicine and
surgery.
In 2006 the allure of Maine pulled her back north and
she rejoined her friends at WVH and become a partner with Bill Bryant.
Her husband, Matthew Crane, is the Director of
Development at Kents Hill
School. They live in Wayne with their son, Finn. They are owned
and adored by a Rhodesian ridgeback, named Hope.
When she gets spare time again she hopes to return to
Community Theater. |

 Donelle Paine, DVM
Dr.
Donelle Paine received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and completed
her clinics at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary
Medicine. She is a Maine native, having grown up in Boothbay, and the
daughter of a retired elementary school teacher. She is also a proud
graduate of the University of Maine. GO BEARS!
Dr. Paine currently lives in Readfield with her husband
(Graham), daughter (Emily), Fortie (their Leonberger pictured with her), and their cat
(Hockey Puck). By the way, Puck was hyperthyroid and he was very
successfully treated with radioiodine I 131 and is doing
fabulous.
Practicing at Winthrop Veterinary Hospital Dr.
Paine is privileged and delighted to treat her canine and feline
patients. However, she also enjoys helping and healing her small
mammal patients (ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and rodents) as well.
Her other veterinary medicine interests include endocrinology,
preventative medicine, radiology and ultrasould.
Beyond having fulfilled
her dream to be a veterinarian Donelle also enjoys participating in
community theater, outdoor recreations (camping, rafting, skiing,
hiking) and having time to spend with her extended family, especially
her nephew and niece. Her
family made the discovery
that her niece can speak fluent feline which has come in very handy.

 Colette Bonte, DVM
Dr.
Colette
Bonte was born and raised in Moline, IL. After working in the
veterinary field for a few years, she earned her B.A. in Speech
Communications and French from Augustana College. After graduation,
she relocated to Maine and worked first at the Maine Forest Products
Council, then several years as the Associate Director of Admissions
and Records at the University Maine at Augusta, all the while working
part-time in veterinary medicine.
She returned to school in 1997 to pursue her lifelong
interest in veterinary medicine. In 2006 she received her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University and promptly
returned to her adopted home state. She joined the staff of WVH
shortly after graduation and has been a great asset to the team. She
is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the
Maine Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Bonte’s veterinary interests include animal
behavior and geriatric medicine. She currently lives in
Litchfield with
her tw geriatric cats (CJ and Pumpkin, pictured above) and two ancient
chinchillas (Roland and Mo) and her three year old golden retriever,
Riley. |

Pet Fact:
Most domestic dogs are able to reach speeds of 19 miles per hour, when
running full out. The fastest dog, the Greyhound, can reach speeds of
up to 41.7 miles per hour. The breed was known to exist in ancient
Egypt as many as 6,000 years ago.
